The Washington Post reports at least five Republicans are committed to supporting the Levin-Warner resolution, but this does not square with what has been reported to me, and I won't be trusting the MSM to report this debate fairly. I do not believe that either Norm Coleman or Gordon Smith have declared that they will be voting for the defeatist resolution --rightfully called a "vote of no confidence" by John McCain yesterday-- and the GOP caucus may hold together and kill the resolution in its crib.
The seven Republicans up for re-election in 2008 and listed by the Post as supporting or undecided on Levin-Warner, and thus to who the appeal should be made this week are:
Senator Lamar Alexander (TN): (202) 224-4944
Senator Norm Coleman (MN): (202) 224-5641
Senator Susan Collins (ME): (202) 224-2523
Senator Lisa Murkowski (AK): (202) 224-6665
Senator Gordon Smith (OR): (202) 224-3753
Senator John Sununu (NH): (202) 224-2841
Senator John Warner (VA): (202) 224-2023
