It’s sort of a shame. Harold Ford ran a nice campaign, but ever since he fell behind a couple of weeks ago he’s become increasingly desperate and pathetic. Since Ford’s appeal is based on his coolness and likeability, his newfound neediness has been most unbecoming.
Ford has chosen to his end his campaign with a jarring coda, oddly implying that God is on his side. While it is beyond the purview of this humble blogger to even attempt to divine the Lord’s preference between Bob Corker and Harold Ford, even God’s support won’t be enough to get Ford over the top.
What Ford seems to have forgotten over the past two weeks is that he should be focusing on getting 50.1% of the voters. God will make up his own mind.
