Ron Paul raised $2.4 million in Q2.
Keying off reports that his fundraising was in the $3-4 million range, I had predicted that Paul would raise at least $4 million for the quarter. Paul’s supporters believed this assessment was credible enough, and ran with it. By some accounts, Paul is doing even better than Obama online. And Obama raised over $10 million online last quarter.
So while his cash-on-hand is greater than John McCain’s (somethingthat has everything to do with McCain), Ron Paul’s populist,Internet-driven campaign isn’t powerful enough to earn him his ownfundraising tier, as I’d fully expected given the new order of things.
