Last night John McCain twice referred to "violent weather patterns" and implied these were a product of global warming.

I know that such claims are made, but is there persuasive science behind them? I don't doubt that global temperature has increased in recent years, though scientists don't know by how much, the significance of the change, man's contribution to the uptick, or whether it could or should be reversed.

Senator McCain's insinuation that global warming brings on killer storms is the sort of tactic one expects from the always-alarmist left, and it is the sort of rhetoric that is used to strong-arm critics of over-reaction to "climate-change" prophets of doom.
