After a review of the week's event with Fred Barnes and Morton Kondracke and a report from Congressman John Campbell on the paralysis in the House, I will air an interview I conducted earlier this week with author Steven Pressfield, best known for his novels of the ancient world including Gates of Fire, but who has now written an extraordinary novel of war set in the North African campaign of 1940 to 1943, Killing Rommel.

I am certain you will love the book, and especially so if you are a member of the military who has served in one of the desert wars of the past 15 years.  Pressfield has an uncanny eye for geography and a great feel for the life and calling of a special forces soldier (he was a Marine reservist which helps of course.)  The transcript and audio of the interview will be posted later today, and Pressfield made this introductory video on Rommel and the Long Range Desert Group that the British used along with the SAS to harry, pursue and collect intelligence on Rommel in what was really the birth of special forces in modern war:
