In a lengthy interview with the New York Times, former Bush campaign strategist Matthew Dowd has renounced the Bush administration. Dowd went so far as to author an op-ed titled “Kerry Was Right” but wimped out when the time came to publish it. Regardless, Dowd now opposes the Iraq war and is crestfallen by President Bush’s limitations which have only recently come to his attention.

The Nutroots will greet this article with unbridled enthusiasm. I predict it will excite them more than a DVD release of Keith Olberman “Special Comments” would. That’s okay – let them have some joy.

The Times story concludes with Dowd gushing, “I feel a calling of trying to re-establish a level of gentleness in the world.” That’s just great. I suggest he start with Ahmadenijad and work his way down.
