Though John McCain kept his pledge to accept public financing for the campaign ahead (Obama broke his promise to do so), it is legal to contribute to the McCain-Palin Compliance Fund, which fields the army of lawyers necessary to keep the vote free of corruption. Needless to say, given the involvement of the Cook County/Chicago machine, this will have to be a significant fund.
