Reports are coming out that a plane was grounded due to the suspicious behavior of twelve passengers. Walid Phares, the man who knows more about Jihadist terrorism than anyone alive, reports that all 12 men, “of South Asian appearance,” were using cellphones after takeoff. He also notes several other aspects of this scare that seemingly distinguish it from the other three we’ve had in the past ten days. One thing we know - either the suspicious passengers were up to no good, or recklessly unmindful of the way cell phones can muck with a plane’s navigational system.

Whether or not this is another aviation false alarm like the problemed claustrophobe who prowled the aisle during the London to D.C. flight remains to be seen. There have already been arrests, though.

Regardless of the outcome of this episode, my title remains in effect: In the New World Order, we must treat every day as August 22.
