I interrupt vacation to bring your attention to a column by my Townhall colleague Carol Liebau on Barack Obama.  Carol worked with Senator Obama on the Harvard Law Review, and her take on him is worth reading very closely and storing away.

Carol will be guest hosting for me on Monday as I launch the book tour in New York, so get your Senator Obama questions lined up for then.

One other note: Paul Mirengoff was puzzled by my suggestion that he was to Powerline as Ray Fosse was to the 1973 and 1974 world champion Oakland A's of the early '70s.  Ray Fosse handled those teams, of course, and if the Tribe hadn't traded Fosse to the As in March of '73, Charley Finley's circus would have lacked an on-field general..  (Fosse also broke up a clubhouse brawl between Reggie Jackson and Bill North --getting injured in the process-- but I doubt Paul will be called on to separate John and Scott.)  Fosse has a special place in the hearts of Indians fans, who have had to cheer their club's alum more often than their team in the post season.

BTW: I'd analogize Fraters to the 1962 Mets, but that's unfair to the Mets.
